Light Metal Alloys: Processing for Performance

Light Metal Alloys: Processing for Performance 2017

This symposium covers fundamental and applied research related to the processing of light metals, and their resulting physical and mechanical metallurgy. The scope includes: new process developments, process modelling, alloy development, process-property relationships, microstructure development, defect characterization and prediction, residual stress, and fatigue behaviour measurements and prediction. The focus is on processing routes including casting, hot- and cold rolling, extrusion, forging, and drawing. The focus is on processing routes including additive manufacturing, casting, hot- and cold rolling, extrusion, forging, drawing, and heat-treatment. Abstracts are requested that highlight the impact of the research results on the final in-service component performance.
