Students are invited after the Welcome Reception to participate in a friendly bowling competition or to play games at the Great Canadian Midway. Drinks and food will be provided. Get the week off to a good start while meeting other students.

Metsoc Annual General Meeting Luncheon
On Monday, the Society will have its Annual General Meeting and will feature the inauguration of the new Society President.
Price: By invitation only
Representatives from industry and students are invited to meet informally at the mixer.We will announce the winners of the Student Poster session and draw prizes.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2
MetSoc Environment Box Lunch
The Environment Section of MetSoc will hold their annual meeting during lunch, on Tuesday in the technical room. The meeting will offer a free box sandwich lunch. The meeting is an invitation to all who are interested in joining the Environment Section of the Society.
The Pressure Hydrometallurgy Organizing Committee will be holding a luncheon on Tuesday. Purchased tickets required.
MetSoc Awards Banquet
On Tuesday the Society will honour its outstanding members by presenting the Society Awards. Purchased tickets required.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3
Historical Metallurgy Box Lunch
Price: Complimentary (1st come 1st served basis).
The Historical Metallurgy Committee of MetSoc will host a box lunch featuring guest speaker
Sam Marcuson, VP of Vale Canada Ltd. His talk Robert M. Thompson and Viktor Hybinette: the Yin and Yang of the Early Nickel Industry; will be presented on Wednesday at lunchtime. No tickets are required however space is limited to 100 for lunch, therefore come early!
Student/Industry Round Table Discussion
This free event for students (students must confirm attendance) provides the opportunity for students and professionals to discuss topics and exchange ideas in a small group. Lunch will be served.
