COM 2014 - 53rd Annual Conference of Metallurgists

Process Control Applications in Mining & Metallurgical Plants

This symposium will explore utilizing process control technology to advance sustainability, safety and productivity of the operation of mining and metallurgical plants. Il will bring together industrial practitioners and academic researchers in the field for information exchange, technique development, exploring new application etc.

The symposium will cover all aspects of control, optimization and automation from mining operations to mineral and metal processing. It will cover, but not be limited to the following topics:

  • Mathematical modeling for mining, mineral and metallurgical systems
  • Integrated process design and control
  • Process simulations
  • Process control applications in mining, mineral and metallurgical systems
  • Process monitoring, fault isolation and diagnosis
  • Data mining, virtual reality, expert systems, neural networking
  • Geometallurgical modelling
  • Theory and application of advanced process control
  • Final control element design
