Ever increasing technical challenges posed by the mining industry demand for the successful transfer and deployment of innovative solutions from other industries. This symposium encourages the discussion of success stories and lessons learned through the exchange of ideas and technologies between industries. Abstracts are welcomed (but not limited to) in the following areas:

• Models for technology cross-pollination
• Emerging technology trends in metallurgy and materials
• The role of strategic partnerships in technology transfer
