The symposium will recognize Professor Ralph Lloyd Harris' significant contributions to the field of extractive metallurgy. The conference will feature invited speakers,
including many of his colleagues and former graduate students
who are leaders in academia, industry and laboratories. The general theme will be extractive metallurgy and learning, including but not limited to the following fields:
- Extractive Metallurgy of Light Metals
- Extractive Metallurgy of Base Metals
- Injection phenomena
- Minor elements (including vacuum metallurgy)
- Technology and learning
While paper are by invitation only, the organizers are happy to receive correspondence for anyone who believes they have been overlooked, and due consideration will be made. However, the committees decisions are final.
On Tuesday night, a chili night, an event that reflects Ralph's annual traditions, will be hosted at the Thomson House, located on McGill University campus (3650 McTavish Street, Montreal, H3A 1Y2). Beer will be available for purchase separately. This will be a great opportunity for people to rise a glass to the late professor Harris, share some personal moments with others and connect with people who have been touched by him. A Trust fund supporting those affected by DiGeorge Syndrome will be in place. Tickets are available through registration.
