COM 2013 Conference of Metallurgist Hosted by MS&T13
Hydrometallurgy: Materials & Equipment

Materials and equipment play a key role in plant reliability, asset management and the economic viability in hydrometallurgical operations. This symposium will bring together internationally recognized scientists and engineers from metal producing companies, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, test laboratories and academia to discuss the latest developments in all aspects of materials and equipment in hydrometallurgical operations. Through this interaction, the symposium hopes to record the current state-of-the-art in this field and to promote further development. The symposium will include (but will not be limited) to the following topics:

  • Industrial operations
  • Reliable materials for harsh environment
  • Hydrometallurgical reactor design and scale- up
  • Process economics
  • Design and materials selection of autoclaves and auxiliary equipment
  • Materials testing for corrosion, wear and structural Applications
  • Materials selection, including metals, ceramics, plastics, coatings & linings
  • Equipment fabrication specifications
  • Quality assurance in fabrication
  • Equipment condition monitoring
  • Plant inspection and reliability
  • Root cause failure investigations
  • Asset Integrity Management Engineering (AIM)
