Applied Neutron Scattering in Engineering and Materials Science Research
|

Neutron beams provide a powerful and sometimes unique method to investigate the structure and properties of matter and have become versatile and irreplaceable tools for material research. They enable fundamental scientific exploration and can be applied in many sectors, including aerospace, automotive and manufacturing. The symposium is intended to showcase scientific and engineering applications of neutron scattering techniques for novel material development, optimization, manufacturing, and certification. Abstracts are solicited in (but not limited to) the following topics:
- Thin films, surfaces and interfaces
- Metals, ceramics, and polymers, structures and chemistry
- Porous materials, hydrogen storage
- Structure-property relationships
- Phase evolution and transformations
- Residual strain and stress, imaging, crystallographic texture
- Neutron diffraction in manufacturing technologies development and optimization
- In-situ neutron diffraction
- Safety and failure analysis, qualification of materials
